DAVID TAKACS
 
 
Dr David Takacs, BSc, MA, JD, LLM, PhD is a Research Fellow and Associate Professor of Law at UC Hastings where he teaches environmental law, biodiversity law, international environmental law and climate change law. He holds a PhD in Science & Technology Studies from Cornell University, an LLM from SOAS and a JD from University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is the author of The Idea of Biodiversity (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1996). He has worked as a professor in Earth Systems Science & Policy at CSU Monterey Bay, a lecturer in the John S. Knight Writing Program at Cornell, a Peace Corps Forestry Volunteer in Senegal and more recently as a consultant on law and policy issues related to forest carbon for USAID and Conservation International.
