Birsha OHDEDAR, BA/LLB Birsha Ohdedar is a researcher and lawyer. He is currently pursuing a PhD at SOAS, University of London on the human right to water and climate change in India. Birsha holds a BA/LLB from the University of Auckland and an LLM in Environmental Law from SOAS, University of London. Birsha is a qualified solicitor in New Zealand and has previously worked in the Environment & Climate Change team at Simmons & Simmons, a global law firm based in London. For the past few years, he has also been engaged as a Legal Officer with the Legal Response Initiative, attending U.N climate change negotiations and providing legal advice to climate vulnerable developing countries and civil society observer organisations. He holds a strong interest in human rights, having previously worked with human rights organisations in India, including the Alternative Law Forum and EQUATIONS. Birsha is an Associate Editor of the Law, Environment and Development Journal.
